Top Ten Tuesday- Top Ten Books On My Summer TBR List

Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by The Broke and the Bookish starring a particular theme.

This weeks topic is the Top Ten Books on our Summer TBR List. I tried to stick to reads that felt summery, but a couple of darker fantastical books made it on because I am just so excited about them! For this weeks TTT I have only included books I own or have already preordered.

1. Eve: The Awakening by Jenna Moreci

This book is going to come out in August and having read the first three chapters for free (here) I know I am going to race through the rest as soon as it arrives on my Kindle! I guess this book is too dark to be considered a “Summer” read but it comes out in August, so it is going to be read in Summer!

2. Paper Towns by John Green

This is the first book I plan on reading as I adored The Fault in our Stars.

3. A Darker Shade of Magic by V.E. Schwab

darker shade of magic

4. The Universe Versus Alex Woods

The Universe vs Alex Woods

5. Miss Peregrine’s Home for Peculiar Children

Miss Peregrine

I actually started this book and then Masters applications took over my life, but I hope to finish it this summer.

6. Ulysses

This is going to be my personal mission for the Summer. I think it might take a long time, so I took the library book I borrowed back and bought my own copy. This is definitely the hardest read on my summer list.

7. Black Dog Summer

Finally, a book with Summer in the title!

8. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell

Jonathan Strange

I borrowed this book from my sister so I need to finish it soon or she will be asking for it back before I am done!

9. Everything, Everything by Nicola Yoon

evrything everything

I have this as an ARC and it looks so good! Can’t wait to read it!

10. Salmon Fishing in the Yemen

I saw the film of this and really enjoyed it, although I have been told that the book is even better. The book itself is really beautiful, it feels like a journal and has a string bookmark.

Have you read any of these books? Want to read any of them? Comment below and let me know, or link me up to your TTT.

Much booky love

  1. I hope you enjoy Black Dog Summer abd Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norrell; I really enjoyed reading both. Black Dog Summer was especially chilling but I couldn’t put it down. I really want to read A Darker Shade of Magic but it might be a while before I get around to it…

Great list, happy reading! My TTT

    1. Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell I am quite confident that I will enjoy as it is very “me”, but I thought Black Dog Summer sounded a little…depressing? Chilling is a little more hopeful, I really need a good un-put-downable book to get my mind off waiting for my Masters to start in September!
Thanks for stopping by and linking me up to your TTT!

    1. Yeh, it seems to be one of those books people *have* to read but don’t really do it out of choice, after a quick skim through the first two chapters I am starting to wonder what I let myself in for!
Yes, I have heard that about Paper Towns, hope it lives up to the hype!
Ooh, I will check your TTT out now, thanks for linking me up!
